Courses Prerequisites Description
Acting 1 Fall & Spring
NONE
This class introduces the acting student to performance skills.  Students will develop and apply performance skills in stage movement, pantomime, voice, improvisation, and character development.
Acting 2 Fall & Spring
Acting 1
In this class, acting skills are enhanced with character study and scene work.  Acting techniques will include advanced scene work, stage make-up application techniques, staging special elements and stage combat.
Fundamentals of Drama 1 Fall and Spring
Acting 1 /
Acting 2
This class enhances advanced acting skills with focus on character study, continued advanced scene work, audition techniques, and dialect work.
 
Fundamentals of Drama 2 Spring Only
Fundamentals 1 and Teacher Recommendation
Advanced drama students will study and produce a one-act play and a children's theatre production for the community and local elementary schools.
 
Fundamentals of Drama 3 Fall Only
Fundamentals 2 and Teacher Recommendation
This class focuses on play production elements and student directing techniques.  Advanced theatre students will have the opportunity to manage all aspects of a student-directed production.  The student-directed One-Act Plays will be performed in the Black Box Theatre three evenings in December.
Technical Theatre Fall & Spring
NONE
The acting student is introduced to the technical aspects of play production in this class.  Students will learn stage management, lighting design, set design, sound, publicity, and costume design.  Students taking this class will become KMHS tech staff members.
Advanced Theatre Audition & Teacher Recommendation Class will be in rehearsal for a production the entire semester.  The class production will be performed for 2-3 evenings on the main stage.  After-school rehearsals will be required.  Check our calendar link for performance titles and dates.
