Coy J. Dunn, Jr.
(Director) is beginning
his fourth year at Kennesaw Mountain, but is no stranger to teaching
or directing. Mr. Dunn taught and directed for several years at
Northwest Whitfield and was the Director of Woodland School of the
Arts before joining the KMHS faculty. He has received many teaching
awards including: Teacher of the Year, STAR Teacher, and the Sallie
Mae Teacher Award. Mr. Dunn has directed over fifty high school
productions and has coached several Region and State Championships
in acting and speaking events.
He coached the
KMHS Literary Team to a State Championship in 2006. Mr. Dunn has
also had several region winning one-act plays, and recently was
State Runner-Up. His plays at KMHS include: The Night Thoreau
Spent in Jail, Rumors, The Miss Firecracker Contest, Neverland,
Aladdin, Beanie and the Bamboozling Book Machine, Little Shop of
Horrors, and Lord of the Flies. He has also won
technical awards for his set designs, costumes, and poster designs.
Mr. Dunn received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees with Honors from
Berry College. He was born and raised in Dalton, Georgia. Mr. Dunn
is excited to be at Kennesaw Mountain and enjoys working with the
theatre staff and students
