Debbie Walker, Fine Arts
Department Chair, is entering her 30th year of teaching and her 20th
year as a County Fine Arts Division Chair. A former star
teacher and teacher of the year, she began the theatre department at
North Cobb High School in 1982 and the Harrison High School
department in 1991. In addition to directing over 100 plays
and winning state championships, she authored the county drama
curriculum. Her most exciting career moment came in 1999 when
her program at Harrison won 1st Place in State, Best Actor for the
Male Ensemble, and Best Actress for the Female Ensemble in her
production of Nicholas Nickelby. She conducts summer
drama camps for young children each year and directs for the West
Ridge Church Children's Ministry. Perhaps her greatest
accomplishment, however, is being mother to two exceptional
children, Lauren, beginning her second year at Georgia Tech, and Andrew, a
6th
grader.
